NYC Event October 23, Top Prime Day Steals, Best Body Groomers
And welcome to the site, two new contributors!

Blue Princes, assemble! But really: Let’s get together October 23 in NYC, at Blind Barber East Village.
The BB guys just finished an overhaul of their speakeasy, and they’re kind enough to host a happy hour with Blue Print in a couple weeks. And — just saying — Jack Harlow came to their reopening event last week, so… maybe he’ll come to this one? Heh.
Anyway, come for the Kansas-grown wheat brews on tap courtesy of Boulevard (be my heart!). Come for the big giveaways from two Philipses (Norelco and Sonicare), as well as Hims and Blind Barber. Come for the good vibes, especially those from DJ Karim Olen Ash. Here’s a set he just did this past week (terrific soundtrack for a productive Monday btw):
Editorial friends: Please email or DM me about it; we have a separate thing happening earlier for those of us in house or freelancing. Would love to see you for that media pals portion of the event 😉 Really hoping we get a turnout from Beauty writers/editors too—please join us!
Prime Day! Here’s what I’d Take Advantage Of…
Look, I don’t wanna turn Blue Print into a total ecomm crapslog BUT with Prime Day happening tomorrow and Wednesday, I guess I’d be remiss not to suggest a few things to buy now instead of later, given the deep discounts. I’ll focus on big-ticket stuff here:
Braun Series 9 Pro Shaver:
Routinely listed as my favorite foil shaver. Looks to be 29% off. (Save yourself a cool $100.) A Blue Ribbon winner… Series 8 version also 20% off.Philips Norelco i9000 Electric Shaver:
The king of rotary shavers, a whopping 27% off for Prime Day… Alongside the Braun above, it was featured in my Best Electric Shavers video (with an explainer of foil vs rotary). The original 9000 model is also 29% off, coming in just shy of two-hundy.Philips Norelco Multigroom 9000:
My longtime best beard trimmer ever… and terrific for finer details. Terrific hair clipper (In a now-gone Forbes roundup I did, my barber pro put it to the test on her clients and loved it. Still—top-line customizable long-lasting beard trimmer.) Another Blue Ribbon winner. Equally powerful 7000 series kit is also 25% down.BeautyStat Universal C Refiner:
This one is 20% off. Rarely ever should you get discount Vitamin C, but a universal sale like Prime Day helps allow for it (so you know it’s not necessarily expired, dated product). This was one of my top picks in the Vitamin C explainer guide, and a beloved product of all my editor pals. Great water-less formula that protects the ingredient.
And besides those, I would encourage you to peek our other Blue Ribbon Winners for some great discounts across the grooming category. (Many brands also match or increase discounts on their own sites this week, remember. Amazon might dictate the “holidays” but they you’re often rewarded for shopping with the brand directly, too.)
New at Blue Print: Freelance Contributors
We’ve got our first few freelance commissions up on Blue Print, from my fellow GQ contributors Michael Stefanov and Leon Hedgepeth. More to come from them, from other grooming guys… watch this space!

New in Foot Care + Best of Body Hair Grooming
Couple other newbies of late, first a spotlight on new footcare brand Happy Soles (from the guys behind Happy Nuts… a brand that I adore through and through for making my life much less swassy.)
And we just published our latest video, the best body hair groomers:
If you’re in the market for a fantastic trimming device. I checked and most don’t have Prime Day deals listed (not yet, at least), save for the Philips Norelco OneBlade Face + Body, which is down 23%. Truly though, that Panasonic body groomer is THE BEST especially if you have to trim your own back hair. (Same for its less-spendy older version; if you only need a back hair trimmer, that’s your pick.)
Alright guys, that’s it for now. Hope to see you Oct. 23 in East Village. Please share this newsletter with anyone who might find it useful, and please subscribe to our YouTube if you haven’t already! We will be taking an intentional pivot with it as we round Year 1, and I hope you all tune in!
Oh, and I also got the privilege of shooting with Robin from Man for Himself in Edinburgh this past week, so watch soon for a few videos from the two of us, on both of our channels/socials. (Here is Blue Print’s Instagram and TikTok.)
