Is this thing on? (Our first newsletter!)

Grooming giveaways galore as we get upright.

Well well well, it’s the very first newsletter. I’m grateful that you’re reading this in our early days, in what (for now) feels more like Publisher’s Clearing House as opposed to a men’s grooming authority. But that’s by design: It’s a month of building our base—and celebrating with prizes—and you’re officially part of the foundation. Let’s celebrate that! Thank you.

There’s a good chance you learned about us through one of the 10 terrific brands who helped jump start Blue Print by Adam Hurly over on Instagram:

Thank you to every last one of them. Sincerely.

And speaking of those brands—here goes my Glut of Grooming Giveaways:

You have until end of day tomorrow (Dec 16) to enroll in any of those 10 Instagram giveaways. Just follow @blueprintgrooming to find all ten of them (plus the rules / prizes for each). Do you want to win $750+ of Andis grooming devices? Maybe $500+ of STMNT hair stylers and swag? Or all three scents from indie darling Bianco Profumo?

YouTube + Grand Prize Giveaways

I promise this newsletter will have an actual POV by the very end of the year; but first, more giveaways, eh? If you want to win one of the three YouTube grand prizes, (featuring hero products from all 10 Instagram giveaways, $1500+ value each) then simply subscribe to our channel and comment on this video before the sun sets on December 22.

We’ve got a few videos up on YouTube already: our inaugural 10 Blue Ribbon winners, the most proven hair loss treatments, and of course, swass + chafing remedies. I get to make fun faces like this in the thumbnails, so that’s an interesting pivot for my career:

Thank you to Dr. Ryan Turner and Dr. Heather Rogers for your two cents (on the use antiperspirant in the groin area) for that video! And thank you to Dr. Gary Linkov and Feel Confident for being our first YouTube sponsor in the hair loss video! (By the way… use code BLUEPRINT at Feel Confident for 10% off their skincare and hair-thickening products, eh? Not valid on hair loss prescriptions!)

Newsletter + Grand Prize Giveaways

Oh wait, more giveaways: Next Sunday (Dec 22), in that day’s newsletter, I’ll have yet another giveaway prompt for you. This one will be for 3 more grand prizes, each nearly $1800 in value, featuring:

I’ll lead with that next week, trust. (But also… how good are these YouTube and newsletter prizes?!)

Before I Forget: There Are More Giveaways! (“Wow, That Adam”, You Say.)

You probably saw this coming—more giveaways! I really love free stuff (giving and getting!), and I love all of these brands in my orbit, and I love keeping people fresh and dusted off, so… everyone wins.

On January 5, we’ll start our biweekly cadence of newsletter giveaways with more of my favorite brands; four of them are already secured through mid February, and I suspect more will jump in to be part of the party. For those, you just need to be subscribed to this here newsletter, and reply to each prompt that corresponds with the giveaway. Now’s a good chance to forward this email to your pals and remind them to sign up too, since the prizes are going to be as regular as me after I started eating spinach with lunch every day. (This is 38! And this is the level of irreverence and parasocial connection I strive for here.)

New and Noteworthy

I promise we will have more than just prizes after December. How about I leave you with one of my favorite launches of late? From Harry’s—one of our giveaway partners, yeah yeah it’s coincidence, promise. It’s their first foray into prestige perfumery. This one is Tamalpais EDP, a collab with illustrator and installation artist Matt McCormick, who grew up near Mt. Tam north of San Francisco.

That girth on the bottle, though. Wow. Redwoodian!

I got one of just 250 fat-bottomed vessels that was produced in this batch; maybe they’re creating demand for a future rollout of more? I feel like we beauty/grooming media got over half of these , so… get yours while you can? Or something. Either way, it delivers beauuuitfully on hearkening the Marin Headlands with its cypriol and oud-y charms. It has a delicious candle counterpart, and I am happy that Harry’s is batting above its weight in this space. It sure makes me miss life in the Bay Area, too. (I cling to my 415 SF number, 13 years after moving away—this week, in fact.) Thanks for the olfactive love letter, Harry’s and Matt M.

OK my Blue Princes… that’s a wrap for now. Good luck on all the giveaways—seriously, even engaging with them is so useful for us now, when the algorithm “keeps score” of this stuff, so I appreciate those of you who have tagged friends, followed, subscribed, etc.

Stay regular out there!

Thanks for reading.
